I still remember the day when there was a poem writing competition in my school and they gave us only three hours to write and submit the poem. Although there was not much enthusiasm among my friends as Hindi alone was nightmare for them and to add poem writing was a herculean task for them. However i knew one friend, Suman Saurav , the fat old boy popularly known as budhba (an old person) who was good at poem writing. he has already shown us his wriiten poems in his diary and i was surprised to see his articulation and beautiful use of words. honestly speaking i am jealous of every articulate person because i too want to have that talent. So, with envy i engulfed that feeling. That day he quickly copy pasted his one of the poems for the competition from his diary and seeing that i was at height of my jealousness. Why can't people work honestly, i thought, he should have written one down and then submitted it if he has the class of writing poems. Then and there i decided that at least today i will try wroting one poem. I was assisted by one of my friends who was sitting besides me. He was Zeeshan Zafar and although he should be good at urdu but to the contrary he was helping me write one hindi poem. We focused on rhythm and chose simple rhyming words to form small sentences. Then we formed sequencing paragraphs and fighting with words for three and half hours we were able to make a poem. It was an ordinary but simple and effective. to pen it down in three and half hors in school time was a brave effort om our part. But the story doesn't end here. Actually we Zeeshan and i submitted the same poem. Fortunately or unfortunately i don't know, mine the one which was adjudged among the best poems and i was called for recital of the same in the assembly. It was a gift as well as prize for us of our maiden effort which boosts my energy even today for my passion for writing in hindi.
